&%$§ Telekom

Now I feel German. We've had the first of our moving glitches. Telekom has turned off our phone 1 week earlier than agreed on. No phone, no internet . . . not a single luxury, like Robinso - ok you get the point.

Might be a bit scarce til this gets sorted.

We have the key and the landlord has a small list of things that need to get repaired. There is a door latch that's broken.

Day 1 of the move involved MG refilling all of the holes in the walls. I stayed with him last night while he removed all of the lightswitch and electrical socket plates.
Someone had to be there to call 911 (or whatever it is) if he stuck that screwdriver somewhere it didn't belong. He insisted the screwdriver was designed for that, but I don't believe him.

Today he is taping, taping, taping and riding over to Telekom to give them a piece of our collective minds.

The mooselet is off to gay Paree for a couple of days. The trains are running again over there which means it's back to rioting season. C'est la vie parisienne, or something.

Oh, see - it'd be a pity if you got scarce. Sharing moving glitches, perhaps with photos, is a great way of making non-movers feel grateful they're not dealing with =that=.

So ... please post pics of your DH with his screwdriver in the wall.

Again I must point out that those of us who know you in real life, read MG as something other than "My German." And speaking of the real MG, not a great time to go to Paris.

hey paul - maybe i only decided in my head. the mooselet or moosette? is mg. My German is MG, and mg has no intention of heading to the parisian suburbs. Actually she would have no itention of leaving the Louvre if they wouldn't kick her out when they close. (I'm sure it is the Da Vinci connection *grin*).

hey molly -
welcome back to town!
the camera is on the list of things to replace. eats batteries, so that only the super fresh, just from the recharger batteries will do. translates as - spontaneous photos, just not possible right now. but christmas is coming :)

paul -- i survived paris sans french, and i, too, have to stop and think every time i see an "MG" reference...i think a different acronym is in order!

I've had really bad experiences with Telekom over the years, but I thought they had gotten better ... on the day of my last move they turned off the phone on the morning of the move, and our new home was wired and running within the next hour. Seems from your and Papa Scott's recent blogs that mine was the exceptional case.

And given that the real MG has been MG for longer than your husband, I think she gets dibs on the nickname. Maybe you could translate "My German" into German and use that. "Mein Deutsch," right? MD? I've also seen DH for "Dear (or Darling) Husband."

Nicknames should be like in the movie Highlander: "There can be only one!"

(As a matter of fact, I believe George is holding a fork.)
